There's so much about summer to look forward to right now that we can't even stand how excited we are. Family moves, milestone birthdays, house-hunting trips to San Francisco, visiting our family in Nashville, friends coming to visit and just the everyday "let's go do something" feeling of summer.  And, with summer comes a whole new shoe wardrobe (Yay!). Now that you've had your old and new shoes out a few weeks during this gorgeous weather, let's talk about getting them organized. We're pretty obsessed with shoes ourselves so don't worry, we won't be pointing any fingers.

More on organizing in a second. In the meantime, here are the summer shoes on our wishlist and worthy of keeping our pedi's on point for:

See, the thing about shoes is, you need to be able to find them to wear them. So rather than digging into the deep blue sea of the bottom of your closet, try some of these really easy organizing ideas. You probably have a lot to loose and everything to gain.

We can't say enough about shelves. If you don't have them, it's simple. Create them. Add them to the top or bottom of your closet for shoes bags, tees, hats and accessories. Use vertical space. Hang shoes by their heels on a row of towel racks. You should be able to get 4-6 pairs on a rod, depending on the width of your space and towel bars.

Who doesn't love a good Ikea Expedit? I think everyone in our family owns at least one. They're perfect for organizing shoes, bags, books, the kids room, playroom and even the laundry room. The list goes on. While the hottest selling bookcase was discontinued this year, fear not. Ikea replaced the unit with the Kallax. If there isn't an Ikea near you or you're a DIY organizer, take a look at our modular shelving from Way Basics. We think of it as DIY Shelving. It's Eco-friendly, the easiest assembly you'll ever see and it's stackable.

Meet Imelda. She's the ultimate stackable shoe shelf from Umbra. She's a pro at keeping shoes NEAT in open spaces (think mudroom + entryway, too) or in a closet. Imelda doubles a cool place to stack + store tee's, sweaters and more, too. Choose from black or white.

When it comes to shelves, glam it up. Shelves don't need to be boring and we're bring back this favorite space for living proof. If your shoe shelves are in an open space, style them and display your prettiest pairs.

Use good shoe boxes if they work in your space. Quality matters with organizing. With the right care, a good shoe box should last forever.

HERE'S WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY ABOUT shoe storage:

Keep shoes contained. These genius shoe boxes are a great idea!

DIY Shelving is the answer to just about any storage issue.

You've seen the Pinterest famous shoe tower, right?

Freestanding shelving just works.

Keep everything off the floor with garment racks. You'll thank us later.

Overdoor storage uses otherwise wasted space to store shoes. Flip flops included.

These are the cutest little flip flop pails we ever did see.

On our wish list: Trina Turk's Evelyn Kitten Heel. They'll be the sexiest game in town this summer.

There's espadrilles and then there was the Chanel Espadrille. Just sayin'.

"Organizing isn't about buying more stuff for your stuff. It's about Living Beautifully".
